Children’s Feeding Program

BackPack Program

The BackPack Program attempts to reduce child hunger, educate students and families on proper nutrition and promote healthy lifestyles. It is designed to provide extra support on weekends for children who receive free or reduced-priced lunches at school, this program provides a backpack full of nutritious and easy-to-prepare foods for children to take home on the weekends when school meals are not available. For many of these children, this backpack is their only source of food when school is not in session.

In Clark, Champain, and Logan Countries there are over 10,000 children who go to sleep hungry every night. Your support is needed to provide food for children in your own community. Sponsorship opportunities are available- click here.

Summer Food Service Program

No more early mornings. No more classes. No more homework. No more tests. However, for many students, the end of summer also signals the end to guaranteed meals on a regular basis. The Summer Food Service Program aims to provide children with free, healthy meals during the summer months when school is not in session and when many children often face missing meals and lack of proper nutrition.

We are currently recruiting sites to serve meals this summer. Sites can be churches, organizations, housing complexes, or schools, and must be located in an area where more than 50 percent of the students receive free or reduced lunches. The sites must also serve no less than 20 children per day. The Summer Food Service Program runs from June 4th- August 1st.
